Neroli is the oil of mature love. It is otherwise known as the oil of shared purpose and partnership. It has a distinct aroma and you would never guess but it comes from the same plant as wild orange and pettigrain essential oils! The scent of Neroli could be described as sweet, floral citrusy and fresh. Neroli provides a positive and ulifting aromatic experience that fosters ease and relaxation. It is a unifying and stabilizing oil promoting harmony in the changing dynamics of long-term relationships and aids in realizing deeper states of connection in intimate moments. It encourages active acceptance and supportive space for the chosen partner while gently reminding us that sexual unity is a key aspect of relationship happiness that needs to be nurtured. Beautifully put from the “Emotions and Essential Oils” (a reference guide for emotional healing 2017 edition), “Neroli invites individuals to attune their focus to the beautiful tapestry that is created as two lives intertwine to share purpose and meaning”.
Although Neroli is this wonderful for supporting long-term relationships, Neroli is also an aphrodisiac and can be used by any couple anticipating a romantic encounter. And if we can broaden our focus a little further, because of its calming properties, Neroli should be considered when lacking a sense of peace or calm. To be honest, I find Neroli to be very comforting at times that I am disturbed in one way or another. Most recently, when putting in some long days recovering from my hip surgery, I started to feel somewhat anxious. Anxious about my recovery, anxious about all that I wanted to accomplish, and anxious about how limited I was in what I could do! I instinctively reached for Neroli. In fact, I had it packed to take to the hospital for post surgery support! So although it is for mature lovers, remember it is just as wonderful when you are ill at ease.
And last but not least, Neroli is very good for the skin! Add it to your daily moisturizer and enjoy a fresh new glow.
NOTE: Doterra Neroli only comes premixed with cococut oil in a 10 ml roller bottle. Any of the doterra oils that come premixed in 10 ml roller bottles are referred to as “Touch” oils. Hence, doterra Neroli is know as Neroli Touch.
Most Common Uses
Because doTERRA Neroli Touch is diluted with Fractionated Coconut Oil, it is primarily meant to be used topically or aromatically. Here are some ways to incorporate it into your daily life:
- Before any big event, keep your skin looking its best by applying Neroli directly to skin before using moisturizer to reduce the appearance of blemishes. You can also apply it throughout the day as needed.
- Apply to your pulse points on your wrists, neck, or the side of your forehead to uplift your mood and enjoy the sweet citrusy scent.
- When you’re feeling anxious or frazzled, apply Neroli to your palms and cup your hands around your nose. Breathe in the scent deeply a few times to feel more relaxed and at peace.
- Roll a small amount onto skin and then add Lavender, Ylang Ylang, and Marjoram oils for an aromatic massage experience.
